TREATMENTS

J.M. Vargo Massage offers clients a wide variety of therapeutic massage styles, something suitable for most everyone's needs. Massage has many health benefits, as well as a wonderful way to relieve tension in your busy life.

Swedish Massage

The most well-known category of massage is Swedish massage. Swedish massage techniques range from gentle to vigorous, and this form of massage employs five distinct stroke styles. The basic strokes are sliding, kneading, rhythmic tapping, friction, and shaking. The term "Swedish massage” is primarily used in English and Dutch-speaking countries, as well as in Hungary. Elsewhere, including Sweden, the style is called "classic massage."

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is ideal for focusing on painful, stiff "knots" in your body. The massage therapist uses slow, precise strokes that concentrate pressure on layers of muscles, tendons, or other tissues deep beneath the skin. It is not as rhythmic as other forms of massage, but it can be therapeutic: easing locked-in patterns of tension and benefiting muscle injuries.

Integrative Massage

Integrative massage involves combining methods from various modalities, including massage, somatic therapy, and bodywork techniques, among others. The exact integration of methods depends on the patient. Each session is tailored to meet the individual's specific needs. Integrative massage is based on the idea that a generic massage is not always right for every person, nor can it resolve every health issue. By using various techniques, specific difficulties can be identified, addressed, and resolved.

Pregnancy
Massage

Pregnancy massage is a broad term for various suitable methods of massage applied during or after pregnancy (prenatal or postnatal massage therapy).  Special pillows, or "bolsters," position a woman comfortably on her side, especially during the last stages of pregnancy, as this position is often more comfortable.
